Twin Rivers Cottage

Twin Rivers cottage is situated on a working farm on the banks of the Ongarue River providing access to many kilometres of superb fishing water. The comfortable cottage can sleep up to nine people and is a great base to explore the many rivers in the area including the Waimiha and the small remote rivers that flow through the pristine Pureora Forest.

As well as fishing there is access to the timber trail for cyclists and trampers.

The cottage is a three bedroom fully self conatained house that is suitable for groups of up to 9 anglers or families.

  • Three bedrooms with 2 queen beds, 1 king single, 2 bunks, 1 single and a pull out bed/matress
  • Full kitchen including fridge/freezer, oven, toaster and dishwasher
  • BBQ and outdoor furniture

The shearers quarters

As well as the cottage there is a rustic alternative known as the shearer's quaters. It is ideal for small parties wishing to base themselves to explore the great fishing in the area.

Local attractions and activities

The Twin Rivers Cottage is located on the edge of the beautiful Pureora Forest which offers a number of walks and cycleways including the famous timber trail with its specatular scenery and viaducts. Those wishing to explore further can easily access:

  • Mount Ruapehu (approx 1.5 hours drive)
  • Waitomo Caves (approx 1 hours drive)
  • The Tongaririo Crossing (approx 2 hours drive)
