Lake Whakamarona Lodge offers tranquil lodge accommodation right on Lake Whakamarino (Tuai).

It's the only lodge close to Lake Waikaremoana where you'll find trophy sized trout, wilderness fishing, spectacular scenery, magnificent walks and hikes through native bush and beside pristine lakes and rivers.

Features
  • Sea-kayak, dinghy and canoe hire with life jackets, spray decks and safety equipment supplied. Small outboard motors for dinghies are also available.
  • Guided walks: The lodge can organise one day guided bush walks, hikes or tramps and eco-tours.
  • Conference room; morning and afternoon teas; equipment including video/TV, overhead projector/screen, photocopier; and assistance organising activities.
  • Phone, fax and email available, but no cell phone coverage
Accommodation

Lake Whakamarino Lodge has three accommodation units sleeping up to 32 people in total.

Tuai Lodge

The main lodge building (Tuai) faces the lake and provides:

  • Double, twin share or single rooms
  • Shared facilities (quality shower, bathroom, laundry etc)
  • Close access to dining room, conference room and guest lobby with phone, fax and email facilities

Manuka Lodge

The Manuka lodge unit also faces the lake and has:

  • Double, twin share or single rooms (sleeps 10)
  • Shared facilities
  • Self-contained kitchen/dining room with all cooking facilities, fridge, television
  • It can be booked separately by families or groups/

Kowhai and Kouku Lodges

The Kowhai and adjoining Kouku units are behind the main lodge, next to the tennis court and each unit:

  • Sleeps five people
  • Has a small self-contained dining/TV lounge
  • Is ideal for families, small groups or couples

Kowhai Lodge has:

- 1 room with double and single bed

- 1 twin share room

Kouku Lodge has:

- 1 double room

- 3 single rooms

Accommodation:

  • Lodge rooms
    - NZ$69 per night: Double room or twin share
    - NZ$57 per night: Single room
  • Self-contained units (Manuka, Kowhai or Kouku)
    - NZ$100 per couple per night
    - NZ$20 extra adult per night
    - NZ$10 extra child per night
    - Group of 10 or more: NZ$46 per person per night

Meals (per person):

  • NZ$9: Continental breakfast
  • NZ$15: Cooked breakfast
  • NZ$9: Cut picnic lunch
  • NZ$19: Dining room lunch
  • NZ$25: Dining room dinner (main course only)
  • NZ$30: Dining room dinner including dessert
  • NZ$20: Outside barbecue
  • NZ$25: Outside barbecue including dessert

All children (12 yrs and younger): Half price for half portions.

Conference fee

  • NZ$59 half day
  • NZ$150 full day

Includes room hire and extra staffing.
Accommodation, meals and activities are available at an extra cost.
