Maungataniwha Lodge

Maungataniwha Lodge is situated in a remote, pristine environment on the edge of Te Urewera National Park near the Waiau River. Life here is simple but gracious, purposeful but relaxing. A sustainable approach is taken to farming the expansive hill station and most vegetables, fruit, meat and game come from the farm.

Guests can expect a relaxed, comfortable stay with plentiful opportunities for fishing, hunting, relaxing, eating beautiful home cooked cuisine and making the most of the picturesque outlook.

Disclaimers

Weather

The weather at Maungataniwha can change quickly creating access and transportation problems. Maungataniwha Lodge will do all they can to ensure your stay with them goes as smoothly as possible but will accept no responsibility for missed travel connections or failure to meet other travel arrangements.

Farm safety

Maungataniwha is a working sheep and beef farm and there is need for caution as farms do have hazards. The Maungataniwha Lodge information pack includes a waiver of liability form which needs to be signed and sent back to prior to your stay. While the risks are minimal, signing the form ensures you understand the risks and agree to accept full responsibility for your actions while you are there.
