| About the retreat |
The Retreat is nestled in
the Ruakituri
River Valley which meanders is way beneath the spectacular Huiarau
mountain range and offers a unique opportunity to experience the
pristine scenic beauty of New Zealand’s rural and wilderness
countryside.
The Retreat has a tranquil organic orchard where,
in season, there are cherries, grapes, apples, peaches, avocados,
grapefruit, oranges, lemons, blackberries and pears which you are
invited to enjoy during your stay. |

| Location |
Ruakituri Eco Retreat is
marked on the Ruakituri
River maps.
It is located 89 kms and approximately one hour
and twenty minutes drive from Gisborne. |
| Accommodation |
The Ruakituri Retreat
is an architecturally designed fully self contained lodge overlooking
the Ruakituri.
It sleeps up to 10 people and has:
- 3 main bedrooms with queen-sized beds in
each room
- Linen as well as pillows, blankets, duvets
are provided
- All bedrooms are on the top storey with 2
rooms overlooking the river and the third room overlooking the
grounds
- The upstairs rooms are accessed by a timber
spiral staircase
- Large cathedral windows looking out to the
view
- Downstairs the fully equiped timber chalet
style kitchen overlooks the parkland grounds
- Separate dining room
- The lounge with cosy open fire and sitting
rooms take advantage of full glass frontage to take in the native
bush and river views
- French doors open out onto a covered veranda
which has a gas BBQ
- Two toilets and bathroom with bath, shower
and hair dryer

| Deposit and cancellation policy |
A 30% deposit is required to reserve your requested
dates. The deposit is not refundable but may be applied to a future
stay within 12 months of the original booking |
| Directions |
Three main roads which
lead to the retreat
- State Highway 2 from the north traveling
through Tauranga, Whakatane and on to Gisborne
- State Hhway 2 from the south from Napier
to Wairoa and connecting with the Napier Taupo road which allows
access from the centre of the north island
- The third and most scenic but slowest route
is via State Highway 38 which travels via Murapara past the beautiful
lake Waikaremoana
