Solitaire Lodge

Solitaire Lodge is set on a private peninsula on Lake Tarawera and provides the ultimate in luxury for anglers and vistors to the region. The lodge offers spectacular views across the tranquil lagoon, lake and up to the volcanic summit of Mount Tarawera and is the perfect place to experience some of the best fishing to be found anywhere in the world for trophy rainbow and brown trout.

Executive Suites

Three of the six executive suites offer views over the lake and three have with views over the lagoon. 

Premier Suites

Three premier suites are available.

The Solitaire Suite has extensive lake views

  • Two bedrooms, one with super king or twin beds

The Tarawera Suite has views over both the lake and lagoon.

  • One bedroom with two queen beds

The Villa is double storey and can be used as two separate units or combined to make accommodation suitable for families or two couples travelling together.

The restaurant

Renowned for its fine dining, the lodge serves mouth-watering modern New Zealand cuisine prepared with
fresh local produce and complemented by superb wines from the country’s finest vineyards. Guests may engage in lively conversation in the Lodge’s dining room, or choose an intimate dinner in their suite or on the terrace where they can enjoy the scenery.

Packages are inclusive of pre dinner drinks, canapés, four course dinner and full breakfast

Winter (1 May-30 September)

  • Executive Suite:
    Single: NZ$790 (plus GST)
    Double: NZ$1280 (plus GST)
  • Premier Suite:
    Single: NZ$1090 (plus GST)
    Double: NZ$1580 (plus GST)

Summer (1 October-30 April)

  • Executive Suite:
    Single: NZ$885 (plus GST)
    Double: NZ$1470 (plus GST)
  • Premier Suite:
    Single: NZ$1185 (plus GST)
    Double: NZ$1770 (plus GST)
Cancellation policy

In the unfortunate event you need to cancel the following applies:

  • Within 30 days of arrival date:
    25% of all room nights booked will be charged
  • Within 7 days of arrival date:
    100% of all room nights booked will be charged.
Christmas and New Year Period

Between the 22nd of December and 7th of January, a minimum three night stay applies.

On the 25th and 26th of December and the 1st and 2nd of January, a surcharge of NZ$100 plus GST, per person, applies to all, except children under the age of five.

Christmas and New Year  cancellation policy

Between 12th of December to the 12th of January the following cancellation policy applies:

  • Within 90 days of arrival date:
    25% of all room nights booked will be charged
  • Within 60 days of arrival date:
    50% of all room nights booked will be charged
  • Within 30 days of arrival date:
