The River Lodge

The River Lodge is a unique venue set in beautiful park like surroundings on the banks of the Waikato River, midway between Rotorua and Lake Taupo. It is well set up to cater for groups, events and functions as well as individuals.

You can enjoy the peace and privacy of 15 hectares of grounds and excellent spacious accommodation. Fishing gear is available and a light plane landing strip and helipad make access easy.

Features	All the gear you need to fly fish for trout in the river is available Equidistant from the famous fishing at Lake Taupo and the Rotorua lakes Light plane landing strip and helipad: land right on the property with just a short few steps to the lodge or be picked up for a wilderness fishing trip. The River Lodge offers a versatile venue with full catering, activity and adventure options (including fishing) for groups, events and functions. Facilities	19 comfortable and spacious rooms available for single, double or twin occupancy. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and open to either poolside or garden settings. Full service private house bar, serving fine wine, beers and spirits. An array of dining experiences from a five course menu through to a casual BBQ Several entertainment areas including the large dining room with open fire provide the perfect place for a live band, jukebox or karaoke night. A spacious conference room seating up to 45 delegates plus a self-contained conference office with broadband internet available.

Complimentary bus for groups of 20 or more from one location in Rotorua or Taupo for Taupo and Rotorua businesses. All packages are subject to The River Lodge's terms and conditions. Christmas lunch Bring your team for a Christmas buffet lunch and dessert at The River Lodge. $40 per person, available for groups of 10-80 people. Christmas supper With the supper menu your guests will enjoy a complimentary champagne cocktail on arrival followed by Gourmet nibbles served throughout the evening. $29 per person, available for groups of 40-100 people. Exclusive use of the lodge for your group is guaranteed. Christmas adventure Add some adrenaline to your staff Christmas party with a 1 hour blast on the NZ River Jet or an action packed quad biking adventure. Directions	From Rotorua (42km) Head south towards Taupo on State Highway 5. About 30 minutes from Rotorua, turn left into Homestead Road (Ballance Fertiliser is on the right). You will see the River Lodge sign. Turn right after the one lane bridge into Halcrow Road. Travel 4kms to The River Lodge which is sign posted on the right. The lodge entrance is situated at the beginning of Vaile Road. From Taupo (37 km) Head towards Rotorua on State Highway 5. About 30 minutes from Taupo and 4 km after passing through Golden Springs, turn right into Homestead Road (Ballance Fertiliser is on the left) You will see the River Lodge sign. Turn right after the one lane bridge into Halcrow Road Travel 4kms to The River Lodge which is sign posted on the right. The lodge entrance is situated at the beginning of Vaile Road.
