Sherwood Lodge

Sherwood Lodge is a unique retreat located in the foothills of two mountain ranges and surrounded by high country sheep and cattle farms.

Sherwood Lodge offers guests generous hospitality and a taste of early 20th century landowner life. You'll find a warm welcome, quality appointments and a high level of service and attention.

What's more, the nearby Waiau River provides some of the best trout and salmon fishing you'll ever find.

Hosts

Owners Craig Aitken and Philippa Turley are your hosts at Sherwood Lodge.

They are ably supported by butler Pete Sloan and housekeeper Shirley Lang. Plus there's Simba, a big dog with a big bark but a softie at heart.

You may occasionally meet a mob of sheep being moved along the road - the farmer will help you move through the sheep safely. If you haven't driven on gravel much, don't worry, just slow down, take it easy, anticipate corners, and accelerate gently.
