Triple Tui

 

Triple Tui's two self contained log cabins are hidden in the tranquil Tadmor Valley, yet just an hours drive south of Nelson on the Hope River. You can stay in the peaceful riverside cabin or choose the hill top cabin with its mountain views.

Countless world renowned brown trout fisheries suited to the experienced or novice fly fisherman are within easy reach, including the Buller River.

Location

Triple Tui is marked on the:

Setting
  • 50 acres of complete privacy and beautiful native bush
  • The Hope range which is part of the Kahurangi National Park, with its thousands of acres of established native bush is on their back door. There are walks, waterfalls and streams with such beauty as to stop the most ardent bush walker in their tracks.
  • The remnants of the old Nelson to Murchison railway line run along the back of the property.
  • There is a small herd of red deer and several sheep, fenced and grazing happily.
Accommodation

The two self contained log cabins can accommodate up to three adults (13 years and over) per cabin.

  • Riverstone is situated by the ‘tea coloured’ Hope River where you can relax to the sounds of the river. Riverstone is across the river and, if the river is in flood, access is by swing bridge only.
  • Highlander is situated on top of the hill looking toward the St Arnaud ranges with stunning mountain views.

Breakfast

An ample breakfast basket filled with bread, cereal, eggs, bacon, beans, coffee, tea, milk and sugar is provided for each morning of your stay.

Facilities

Each cabin has:

  • Separate bedroom with a handmade queen bed and a lounge with a double sofa bed
  • Self contained kitchen with gas cook top and fridge (the freezer in the main house is available for use if required)
  • Bathroom with shower and toilet
  • Solar water heating and log fire place
  • Gas BBQ on deck (dinner BBQ packs can be provided by prior arrangement)
  • Private deck and grounds - private with its own views and access to the bush
  • Car parking
  • Laundry can be done on request
Other activities and attractions in the area
  • Hunting for red deer and chamois in the Nelson Lakes National Park (permit required)
  • Walking and tramping in the Nelson Lakes National Park
  • Walking the Wangapeka track
  • Gold panning
  • Walk across New Zealand's longest swing bridge at the Buller Gorge or spend a day taking in the many adventure activities at the Heritage Park
  • Exploring Huia Cave
  • Skiing/snowboarding in winter (30 minutes from Rainbow Skifield)
Indicative tariff
to 31 August 2008

Triple Tui's tariff for the 2007/2008 season is:

  • NZ$160: Peak (01 September 2007-30 April 2008)
  • NZ$140: Shoulder (01 May 2008-31 August 2008)

All tariffs are per cabin, per night, for 1 or 2 people.

One additional person: NZ$50.00 per night extra.

Prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars and include GST.

Phone, email or complete the online form at the Triple Tui website by selecting the "Contact Us" tab.

Ask about special rates for long stays and for booking both cabins for the same duration. It is advisable to book early.

Cancellations A fee equal to 1 nights accommodation, is charged if your booking is cancelled within 1 week of your arrival.
