Ashton Glen Cottage

 

Ashton Glen Cottage is a small farmhouse on a sheep and grain farm, ideally located for those who love trout fishing with numerous rivers and streams to fish trout from including the Clutha and the renowned Mataura River.

The cottage is perfectly suited for couples, families, small groups and trout fishermen. It is fully self-contained and provides all that you require for a comfortable stay, including all linen and breakfast on request.

Within 10-40 minutes drive, there are 10 rivers to fish trout from plus many more streams.

Ashton Glen Cottage is marked on the Lower Clutha River map.

Driving distances are around:

- 1 hour and 30 minutes: Dunedin city

- 1 hour and 10 minutes: Invercargill city

Facilities

The three bedroom cottage provides comfortable accommodation for five people:

  • One bedroom with queen bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 bedroom with 1 single bed and baby's cot available. Extra mattresses available should your party exceed 5.
  • Living room/lounge with television, radio and alarm clock
  • One bathroom with bath and separate shower
  • Separate toilet
  • Kitchen with dining area: fridge/freezer, oven and hotplates, microwave, cooking utensils, pots, fry-pan, bowls, electric jug, toaster, crockery and cutlery, pantry basics, complimentary tea and coffee, and a highchair if required.
  • Laundry with washing machine, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, clothesline and linen for beds, bathroom and kitchen. (Please note that the cottage is not serviced.)
  • Fireplace (log burner) and electric heaters
  • Phone and internet connection, cellphone coverage
  • Off-road parking plus single garaging
  • Outdoor seating under verandah and BBQ available

From the South

The Cottage is approximately 35 kms from Balclutha. Take State Highway One south out of Balclutha - signposted Gore and Invercargill.

From the North

The Cottage is approximately 45 kms from Gore. Take State Highway One north out of Gore - signposted Balclutha and Dunedin.
