| Local fishing |
- Nokomai Valley is well positioned as a base
for fly fishing anglers with at least 27 different rivers and
streams within an hours drive.
- Most rivers in the area have relatively easy
access to river banks and they are reasonably easy to walk as
the rivers are not set amidst steep terrain.
- The nearest and most important river to anglers
at Nokomai Valley is the Mataura
River, world famous for its brown trout, which winds through
the southern end of the property.

Nokomai Valley has three
separate comfortable, self-contained cottages.
- The one bedroom cottage sleeps up to 4 people,
- The two bedroom cottage sleeps up to 6 people.
Each cottage provides:
- Stylish decor
- Super king-size beds, or two king singles
per room, electric blankets
- Bathroom with fresh towels supplied, heated
towel rails, hair dryer
- Large sofa bed in lounge, heating, Sky TV
and phone
- Fully equipped kitchenette includes fridge,
microwave, bench-top electric hob with two elements, tea/coffee
- Laundry with ironing service available, ironing
board
- Children's highchair and portacot available
- Private verandahs with superb views

| Fishing guides |
- Nokomai Valley guides are very experienced
in the local area. The guides are local residents, have exclusive
vehicle access and are members of the New Zealand Fishing
Guides Association.
- Most fishing excursions are half day or full
day trips.
- A tasty fisherman's picnic lunch can be provided
by arrangement.
- Nokomai Helicopters can fly you to some
of the less accessible fishing spots for a day's backcountry fishing.
- Fishing equipment can be hired from the guide
for a nominal fee but most anglers prefer to bring their own.
Flies are handmade for sale at the local fly and tackle shop.

| Directions |
Driving from Queenstown:
- Follow SH6 south past Lake Wakatipu until you
reach the township of Athol.
- Continue for 7km south of Athol until the sign-post
to Nokomai Station
- Take the turn off to Nokomai Station (into
Nokomai Road on the left).
- Continue along the scenic gravel access road
alongside the Mataura River for 12km journey until you reach the
homestead.
