Windsor Lodge

Junior fly fishing school

Location

Windsor Lodge is marked on both the Lake Taupo and the Waitahanui River maps.

Waitahanui is 10km south of Taupo (a 10 minute drive).

Two bedroom cabins

  • Self-contained free-standing two-bedroom cabins
  • The main bedroom has a queen-size bed; the second bedroom contains 2 or 3 single beds
  • Separate toilet and shower
  • Kitchen with microwave and fridge, dining seating
  • Lounge with Sky TV
  • Low season: $90 double, $15 extra person per night
    High season: $100 double, $20 extra person per night

Tourist cabins

  • Sleep up to 3 people
  • Low season: $60 double per night
    High season: $70 double per night

Backpacker cabins

  • Two basic backpacker cabins are situated in the park
  • Each cabin sleeps four in two double bunks
  • Use of the camp kitchen, showers, toilets and laundry
  • Low season: $40 per cabin per night
    High season: $50 per cabin per night

Camp sites

  • Power sites
    Low season: $30 double, $5 extra person per night
    High season: $35 double, $5 extra person night
  • Tent sites
    $15 per person per night

  • Camp store/dairy with fresh bread, milkand papers available from 7am daily

Cancellations

Reservation confirmed only on receipt of deposit of first night's accommodation by Visa or Mastercard.

Windsor Lodge accepts that itineraries can change and will always do their best to resell rooms even if cancelled at the last minute. If not, then:


- Cancellation of reservation will incur $15 in cancellation & administrative fees.
- Cancellations less than 48 hours prior to arrival will result in full loss of deposit - unless we can resell your accomodation or site.
- No refunds should guests alter or leave before reserved departure date.

Windsor Lodge has a well-stocked dairy and fishing shop:

Recommended guide Brett Cameron from Central Plateau Fishing provides the ultimate fly fishing experience for rainbow and brown trout with a professional guide and qualified charter boat skipper.

Options include fly fishing Lake Taupo tributaries or back country rivers, quad bike adventure fishing, boat fishing, helicopter access to remote waters, and float plane fly fishing.
