Brookfields Lodge offers warm, friendly, bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation with an excellent on-site licensed restaurant. Overnight parking for mobile homes can be arranged.

Location

Brookfields Lodge is marked on the Mangatainoka River map.

It is just off State Highway 2 at Eketahuna which is situated between Pahiatua (26 km) and Masterton (45 km) in the Tararua/Wairarapa area.

 

Lodge accommodation
  • Brookfields has three guest rooms (family or double), all en suite: the Pukeko, the Fantail and the Kiwi Room
  • The Old School is a self catering annex with stunning views from the decking to the north.
  • Radio/CD player in each room but no TV
  • Extensive library

  • Relaxing meals available in the licensed restaurant
  • A non-smoking environment
Mobile homes Brookland Lodge can arrange an overnight parking site for you. Ladyhawke mobile home park is just down the road (approximately 150 metres) from Brookfields Lodge.
Restaurant
  • Brookfields is a fully licensed restaurant  offering a full “a la carte” menu in the evenings as well as afternoon teas and breakfast.
  • The shaded garden and statue make an idyllic view point whether taking breakfast with the morning sun gently breaking through or eating in the restaurant at night when the garden is illuminated.
  • It offers a menu specifically for children, all of which is cooked freshly on site.
  • Local produce is used whenever possible to ensure the highest standard and the freshest ingredients.
  • The menu is continually updated to reflect seasonal availability of ingredients and customer expectations.
  • Bookings for the restaurant are essential, so ensure you book to avoid disappointment.
  • If you are passing through, stop and try the afternoon teas.
  • Events such as a family celebration, company party, or a wedding can be catered for.

Indicative tariff
as at 1 April 2008

Bed & breakfast

Brookfields Lodge tariff for 1-3 nights including breakfast:

- Pukeko Room: $100 per night
- Fantail Room: $100
- Kiwi Room: $150 (sleeps 2 adults and 2 children)

Self-catering

Old School: $25.00 per person per night
(minimum 4 persons or $100 per night)

Longer stays

Rates are negotiable for stays of 4 nights or more.

Half board

Half board options are available upon request.

Bookings and cancellation

Prices will be confirmed at time of booking.

A 20% deposit is required for all bookings using EFTPOS, MasterCard or Visa.

A cancellation fee is incurred for bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.

Directions
  • From Masterton: As you enter Eketahuna from Masterton on SH 2, take the first turning on your right.
  • From Pahiatua/Woodville: Drive through Eketahuna until, as you are leaving the town, you pass a giant Kiwi on SH2. Take the next left.
  • Turn right at the small roundabout (Herbert Road)
  • Follow the road round to your left over the railway (Alfredton Road)
  • Drive  500m down Alfredton Road until you reach Brookfields Lodge on the left by the post box.
