Tony (Bones) Murphy
 |
| Tony (Bones)
Murphy offers you a trout fishing trip of a life time. Based in
Gisborne, the first city in the world to see the sun, Tony has access
to many top brown and rainbow trout fishing rivers and streams in
this beautiful location, including the Ruakituri
River where Tony has a hut that can be hired.
This area of NZ may be isolated, but spend the
extra $$ and have the ADVANTAGE of not seeing other anglers: plus
less fishing pressure, meaning: no spooky trout, footprints lollypapers
etc.
Tony specialises in helicopter, ATV and 4WD
day trips or overnight camp outs. |

| Testimonials |
"I have fished with
Tony Murphy and his father Frank for over ten years. I truly love
New Zealand and what i love most about the country is the people.
They are the most genuine, caring and helpful people i have met.
Tony Murphy is such a person. He is am exceptional fishing guide
totally knowlegable about the rivers and what flies the trout should
feed on.
Whenever asked to recommend a fishing destination
in New Zealand, I always recommend Murphys lodge. It is a truly
local Kiwi experience. You will catch trout at Murphys."

...............................................................................
I have fished in New Zealand many times over the last 20 years
both guided and solo. Tony Murphy has regularly guided me and on
all occasions we caught good fish. Whilst I, like many, would rather
float a dry fly down a run as opposed to a nymph, a number of times
Tony urged me to drop a heavy nymph (one of his) down a fast run
and we had great results - large, hard fighting rainbow trout! I
know Tony as a guide who knows how to fish and how to put you onto
fish. He has a great understanding of the 'outdoors' and a good
sense of humour ! Also if you want to take a day off from fishing
and go hunting for peacock or turkey, then Tony can fix that too.
I took two great peacocks one morning with Tony and then switched
back to fishing in the afternoon!
From a visiting fly fisherman's point of
view, Tony is a 'no regrets' fishing guide!
