It is located in a rural setting outside Kaiapoi, around 15 minutes from Christchurch International Airport from where Dean will collect you.

Deano's fishing adventures cover a range of waters in Canterbury and South Westland.

Aldabrook is situated on the bank of Silverstream. The Waimakariri River is nearby as are the Ashley, Cust Rivers and Kaiapoi Rivers.

Whatever you're after - real adventure in remote locations, a quiet evening fishing a lake for the evening rise, walking up a river, fishing the lake edge from the shore or an inflatable, or a special event excursion - Deano is more than happy to make it happen for you!. 

As the weather can determine the options Deano is always flexible with backup plans for any eventuality. He knows it's important to fish an 'untouched' location to get the choice trout and early starts mean you get maximum time on the river. His commitment to a quality experience includes providing the best means of transport and the best equipment.

Fishing options include:

• Day trips with many choices of destination
• Overnight and multiple day adventures staying in a hut or tent. On South Westland excursions, the options also include staying in Deano's bach or overnight on Goddess, a 24 foot motor launch, and enjoying real West Coast hospitality and a few home comforts.

Whatever you have planned Deano may have the gear to make your trip that bit sweeter. Regardless of whether he guides you his equipment is available for hire. He also has some extra gear that he loans out free of charge so if you need something just ask.

Camping gear for hire

including tent, pack, ground rolls and sleeping bags and kitchen gear.

Vehicles for hire

• 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet black 6-speed (hardtop or convertible)
• The Green Machine: A 2004 Toyota Landcruiser
• The Old Trout (Try-Fly): A 1994 VX Toyota Landcruiser
• Crafty Kahu: This 4-speed automatic diesel Nissan Mistral is A handy run-around
• The Turtle: The ultimate fisherman's truck, the Turtle is a refurbished 1966 series 2 Landrover which has had a full workover
• A Honda Quad Bike can be transported in all the vehicles except the Turtle

Watercraft for hire

• A fully collapsible 2.4 metre Zeebec inflatable boat, with either 8hp or 15hp Yamaha outboard and life jackets. The Zeebec fits into all the vehicles except the Turtle.
• A state of the art float tube (free with any other hire)

Aldabrook is a 16 acre lifestyle farm featuring north facing chalet style buildings and large sweeping lawns rolling down to the banks of Silverstream with world class fly fishing right on the doorstep

The Loft

The Loft is a chic self-contained, second-storey apartment, independent of the main house. It is ideal for 2 or 3 people but can sleep up to 5. It features:

• A large living area with comfortable leather furniture, tv and dvd, stereo, internet access
• A fully equipped studio kitchen
• Double doors open out to your own sunny balcony with table and chairs
• Queen bed in the bedroom, single pull out bed, and a double fold out bed in the lounge.
• An ensuite bathroom

Meals

• Complimentary refreshments on arrival
• An in-room continental breakfast is provided or cooked breakfast if you prefer
• Picnics, lunches, dinners and afternoon cheese platters optional extras fresh, simple and tasty, using local produce wherever possible.

Your host and guide Dean Harrison:

• Has lived most of his adult life in and around Christchurch
• Spent 14 years in the radio advertising game
• Started his own motivational and sales workshops and Momentum Training
• Has always had a passion for the outdoors, loves to fish, and loves this beautiful country
• Has been a professional part-time fishing guide for several years and now guides fishing and back country adventures as much as possible
• Has had the privilege of fishing in many places around the world: Vanuatu, Belize, Northern territories of Australia, Cape York, Fiji, Numea,Tahiti...and of course New Zealand

All prices are in NZ dollars and exclude GST (Goods and Services Tax) of 12.5%.

Fly Fishing Adventures

All fees include transport, gear, and lunch.

$650+GST: Full day
$450+GST: Half day
$200+GST per additional angler

Children's rates and group discounts available.
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a firm booking.

Rates includes a continental breakfast and complimentary refreshments on arrival.

$265 plus tax per night per couple

$35 per extra person/child

Meals, platters and picnics are available with advance notice. Prices vary seasonally.
