Buller Trout Guiding

Lindsay White (NZPFGA) of Buller Trout Guiding has been a full time professional trout-fishing guide since 1985 in the Buller catchment area around Murchison, which has the reputation of being one of the finest brown trout fisheries in the world.

Lindsay specialises in sight fishing for trophy brown trout, and will make all the arrangments for wilderness fishing via helicopter or 4WD and for overnight campouts.

The Buller River catchment includes more than 20 rivers or streams and it is possible to access a further 20 or more wilderness rivers via helicopter.

• Accommodation and transfer arrangements made

Guiding

$680.00 per day (1 or 2 persons). Includes transport,
picnic lunch and provision of local fishing flies.

Special rate for April: $580.00 per day (minimum 2 days)

Transfers

Nelson airport to Murchison: $200 per one-way
transfer

Murchison to Nelson airport return transfer: $400

Fishing licences

1 to 4 days: $18.50 per day

5 days or more: $92.00

Note: These prices may change from season to
season.

Campouts

$100 per person per campout. Includes all meals and camping equipment.

Road trips

Client pay guides accommodation and meals. Approximately $100 per day.

Equipment hire

Fishing equipment, $25 per person per day.

Helicopter fly outs

Helicopter hire: $700 to$2500 per day, depending on the distance of flight. Clients pay the helicopter operator direct (definitely no price loading).

Over night campouts: Approximately $200 extra.

Booking and cancellation policies are as follows:

• Bookings are secured with a 33% deposit
• In the event of a cancellation, the deposit
  will be refunded only if a replacement client is found.
• If cancelled within 90 days of the booking
  100% of the booking will be charged (unless a repalcement client is found).
• All international clients are advised to
  have travel insurance.
