Paul Macandrew is a Wanaka based
fly fishing guide, who offers guided sight fishing for wild brown
and rainbow trout in some of the most pristine rivers, streams and
still waters found in New Zealand. Paul will customise your fly fishing
adventure to suit your experience, from a keen beginner needing attentive
tuition, to the advanced angler exploring the back country wilderness.
Paul will strive to ensure your day on the
river is the best possible day taking into account the weather
and fishing conditions at the time. With a vast knowlege of local waters , weather patterns and local entomology Paul offers wonderful sight fishing for wild brown and rainbow trout.

A current member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association (NZPFGA)
Fully covered with commercial liability insurance and has an audited safety operations plan through the NZPFGA
Authorised by the Department of Conservation concessions authorization to guide on DOC land
Fully certified with a current outdoors and workplace first aid certificates as required by OSH
Commercial certified as a driver with full passenger endorsements.

opportunities in wild remote areas, and this is what Paul loves
doing! 4WD, helicopter, or hiking access, these are fly fishing
experiences for the Angler who has an addiction as large as ours!

basic backcountry huts, Paul can customise the trip to suit you.
A qualified chef, Paul will cook you unique NZ backcountry dinners,
while you enjoy a local beer or wine and discuss the day’s
