The experienced guides focus their guiding on the Wanaka area which provides excellent opportunities on some of the best lakes, rivers and streams in the world. • You will be picked up from your accommodation at a pre-arranged time and dropped back by your guide.
• A fully guided fly-fishing experience is provided.
• Full equipment is provided if required. This includes rod, reel, line and tippet, flies, waders and extra clothing.
• Sturdy footwear is advised as well as provisional clothing in case of bad weather.
• A maximum of two anglers per guide applies except for night fishing, where for safety reasons it's one angler per guide.
• Lunch is included in full day outings and can be arranged if required on half days.
• Daily or seasonal fishing licences can be arranged for you.

  (8 hours or more)
• Guided lake fishing
  Central Otago lake fishing is hugely under-rated: these lakes are the most productive lake system in New Zealand.
• Guided night fishing
  (2 hours minimum)
  Night fishing on the Clutha River is a great option if you're only in Wanaka for a night, but would love to wet the line for and hour or two
• Guided heli fishing can be arranged. Quotes are  available on request.
• Fly fishing tuition

• Riversong Guides can accommodate clients in Ian and Ann Horrax's relaxed, friendly homestay accommodation Riversong B&B, where privacy and full home comforts are assured.
• For larger groups of anglers, Riversong Guides can arrange accommodation in the self-contained up-market apartments at Wanaka Villas.

Ian Horrax

Ian has spent a lifetime pursuing his passion of fly fishing. Previously a solicitor and for many years a Fish & Game councillor, he now enjoys not only the pursuit of trout with others, but also tutoring newcomers to the sport of fly fishing.

John Barlow

John is a life long angler with a passion for backcountry fly fishing who has been a Fish and Game councillor for 25 years.

Daytime fishing

Prices are inclusive of:
- Transport (4x4 vehicle and boat)
- Light snacks and refreshments
- Equipment

Half day guided fishing: NZ$400 for 1 person

Full day guided fishing: NZD$600 (includes lunch)
Additional anglers: NZ$50 extra per head

Night fishing:

(minimum 2 hours)

One person: $75 per hour
Two people:$90 per hour
