Fish Fiordland

A Fish Fiordland fishing charter is a relaxing adventure for anyone wanting to experience trout fishing in a stunning location: Lake Manapouri is one of the most beautiful in the world, and Fiordland is one of New Zealand’s premier wilderness fishing charter destinations.

Four people at a time can troll for trout aboard Freedom 111 which is licensed to carry groups of up to 15.

Fishing waters

Lake Manapouri

Credentials
  • Freedom 111 is a 10.1 metre Aluminium Senator Launch powered by a 7.3 litre D-Tronic 300hp V8 Turbo motor
  • It is licensed to carry 15 passengers.
  • MSA (Maritime Safety Authority) approved so your safety is assured.
  • Your skipper has a current LLO (Local Launch Operator) certificate
  • Phil is a DOC Concessionaire (PAC 14-06-193) which means he has permission to take clients fishing in areas managed by the Department of Conservation.
Fishing charters
  • Lake Manapouri fishing charters can be booked for any time of year.
  • Suitable for all skill levels from those who have never fished to the complete expert and ideal for families.
  • A minimum of 2 hours trolling applies.
  • Four can fish at one time
  • Friends and family can go along and enjoy the scenery and the fun
  • Quality fishing rods, lures, net are supplied.
  • Fish Fiordland can provide fishing licences if required
  • Morning tea is provided on day trips.
  • Unless you want to take a trout for a meal, all fish are caught and released.
  • Phil will prepare your trout ready for you to cook
  • Bring warm clothing, comfortable shoes, hat, and your fishing licence.
  • Note that to assure your enjoyment and productive fishing, fishing trips are weather dependant.
About your skipper

Fish Fiordland skipper Phil Wornall:

  • Has over 40 years recreational fishing, diving and tramping experience around the Fiordland area
  • Is expert in trolling for trout on Lake Manapouri.
    (If you're new to trolling, you'll be cruising along at a sedate speed, towing the fishing line along in the water, and reeling in the fish when they bite.)
  • Thoroughly enjoys passing on his knowledge
  • Entertains clients with his sense of humour and the occasional local story

Fish Fiordland charges are:

  • Trolling: NZ$95.00 per hour ( 1-4 people fishing at a time)
  • Non-fishing passengers: $20 per person
  • Access to walking tracks: From $40
Water taxi services

Fish Fiordland also offers water taxi services from Pearl Harbour Manapouri.
