• Barry lives and fishes locally and considers it a privilege to guide visiting anglers on the Mataura and other Southland Rivers.
• Member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association (NZPFGA).
• Barry is fully qualified in First Aid and CPR, and always carries the necessary first aid kit.
• Barry specialises in Dry Fly and Nymph fishing and always carries two fully rigged rods for clients, one for Dry Fly fishing, the other for Nymphing, so that he can fish off the top whenever there are rising fish without wasting your valuable fishing time re-tying flies.
• After living in Southland for many years Barry knows the rivers intimately, and friendships with local landowners allows him access to some epic fishing spots.
• Barry has fished in a number of countries including England, Wales, Finland, Austria and Canada, and can truthfully say that the Mataura River can hold it’s own with any water that he has been fortunate enough to fish.
