Boultons Road to Twidles Island

2.4km from Boultons Road.
Vehicle access 0.5km to parking area by river.

Kaiuma Road

8 km downstream of Daltons Bridge.
Foot access only along track to river.
To access downstream to the sea, contact Kerry Gates (03) 574 2050.

Young's Dairy Shed

3.1 km from access point 2. Contact Mr and Mrs Young 03-574 2165 or call in at the second house on the left Wakamarina Valley Road. Parking at the dairy shed.

Canvastown School

Vehicle track 500 metres to river. Watch for electric wires across the track.

Kaiuma Road

3.6 km downstream from Daltons Bridge. Park by the stile and follow the fence line to the main river.

Good downstream access available through gaps in the heavy riparian vegetation. Upstream access depends on side stream flows.

400 metres downstream of Daltons Road. Good parking.

Follow the fence line downstream.

Daltons Bridge

Vehicle parking over the bridge 50 metres downstream on the north bank.

Foot access by bridge upstream on the north bank and downstream on the south bank.

400 metres upstream from Daltons Bridge.

Safe parking where indicated by the gravel piles.

Keep to the river bank along grazed sections.

2 km from Daltons Bridge. Safe parking where indicated.

Keep to the river bank on grazed sections.

3.2 km from Daltons Bridge. Safe parking where indicated.

There is a track to the river 30 metres over Hughes Creek Bridge.

SH6 Totara Flat gravel extraction area

Vehicle access to the river.

Pelorus Bridge

Good parking.

The Department of Conservation Falls track provides upstream access to the Pelorus and the Circle track provides access to the confluence of the Rai and the Pelorus.

1.0 km from No. 13. Park away from the gateway and follow the grassed track to the river.

Track and parking 100 metres past the Tinline Stream Bridge on the south bank.

14.2 km from SH6.

A Department of Conservation track starts into the Mt Richmond Park.

Excellent huts, tracks and swing bridges provide access to the Upper Pelorus and tributaries.
