Craig Smith, owner of Hatch Fishing, is based in the Southern Lakes area, and guides the Wanaka, Hawea, and Haast areas. A member of the NZPFGA, and holder of DoC concessions, Craig grew up fly-fishing the lower South Island, and personally guides all his clients. All equipment supplied if needed (Simms and Sage). Michael Vetters is an experienced fly fishing guide based in Gore, on the banks of the Mataura River and in one of the world's best trout fishing areas.

SW Guiding

Simon Wilkinson specializes in sight fly fishing to trout using 4WD and helicopters (and occasionally jet boats and rafts) to access some of New Zealand's most remote wilderness fishing rivers and the trout to be found in these pristine and amazingly scenic areas.

At Stu's Fly Shop they cut no corners with their guiding services. You need not bring any equipment with you if you do not wish to. All departures unless otherwise agreed, leave from Stu's fly shops private car park in Athol, the gateway to some of the best fishing spots the south island has to offer.
