Forest
& Bird is looking for winning photographs of wonderful rivers
in their wild and natural state. There are a number of great prizes
including a first prize of a Lieica D-Lux camera worth $1,700.
There are two categories
- New Zealand river landscape without people
- New Zealand river landscape with people

Wild
river: a remote and free-flowing river surrounded by indigenous
forests, shrub or tussock lands.
Wild Rivers
is an organisation set up dedicated to supporting the protection
of New Zealand's wild rivers. For more information about this organisation

| Rules |
- Digital entries only can be accepted
- Photographers can scan prints or transparencies
and email them
- Jpeg and tiff files accepted. Initial entries
must be 500Kb-2Mb and winners will be asked to provide larger
files or the original print/transparency
- Email your entry with your name, postal address,
daytime phone number and the name of the river or other waterway
- Entries must include a description of the
river and your experience of it in 100 words or less (this is
purely for background information, and is not part of the judging
process)
- Entry is open to photographers of all nationalities
- One entry per person in each category
- Photographers will retain copyright but their
photos may be used in print, online and display material in the
wild rivers campaign
- The judge’s decision is final and will
not be discussed
- Entry is open to everyone except Forest &
Bird staff and executive members

| Wild Rivers Road Show |
Winning photos will be printed and displayed
in a wild rivers road show touring New Zealand in 2010. Apart from
the winners of the two categories, up to 11 runner-up pictures from
each category will be chosen for display in the show. |
