About the fishing
  • Lake Tarawera is renowned for its abundant trophy-sized rainbow trout of up to 7 kg.
  • Methods used for trout fishing include trolling, jigging, harling and fly-fishing. Your experienced skipper will show you how.
  • Once landed, your own trout can be enjoyed sashimi style (similar to sushi) accompanied by wasabi and soy sauce, or barbequed with Clearwater’s delicious secret recipe
  • For special occasions, your fish can be baked in the thermal sands at Hot Water Beach while you soak in the natural hot pool
  • Or you can release your trout back into the wild after taking a photo as proof of your expertise
  • All tackle and tuition from your experienced skipper is included

Clearwater Spirit

Minimum hire: 3 hours.

1 to 22 guests: NZ$550 per hour for the group
23 or more guests: NZ$25 per person per hour

Clearwater Endeavour

Minimum hire: 3 hours
1 to 4 guests: NZ$250 per hour for the group
Extra guests: NZ$25 per person per hour

Clearwater Pleasure

Minimum hire: 2 hour

Suggested minimum time to visit Hot Water Beach: 2 1/2 hours.

Group of up to 10 people: NZ$140 per hour

Luxury transport

Transfers to and from central Rotorua: NZ$90 for 1-6 guests (one way)

Payment terms
  • Confirmation of your booking will be advised in writing noting the costs, departure time and departure point along with other relevant details.
  • The charter rate and catering will be charged on confirmed minimum numbers.
  • Charters will be charged from the confirmed departure time.
  • Please ensure your group is aware of the correct departure point and the departure time.
  • Full payment of the charter is required on the day, or if previously arranged an invoice can be forwarded and this is payable 7 days after the charter date.
Cancellation
  • Once your booking has been confirmed a cancellation fee of 25% of the charter rate will apply. If the charter is re scheduled this amount will be credited to the new booking.
  • Should cancellation occur within thirty days of the charter date a 50% cancellation fee will apply
  • If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the charter date a 75% cancellation fee of the charter rate will apply along with the full cost of catering.
  • Where packages include combination tours with aircraft operators, we receive the right to replace aircraft transfers with road transfers (We will not accept cancellations due to weather unless for passenger safety reasons).
