The CD-Sports success story

CD-Sports success can be attributed to its passionate and highly educated workforce who all enjoy the great outdoors of New Zealand and know first hand what the products need to do and why. The creative and focused nature of the company also means that new and exciting products and technologies are constantly being developed.

CD-Rods technology

CD-Rods is committed to its unique manufacturing technique utilising a helical of unidirectional graphite fibres. This creates a graphite core to maximise hoop strength, whilst adding minimal weight, and most of all maintaining blank sensitivity by not dampening the energy which flows along the blanks primary fibres.

Labelled G-HLX Technology (Graphite-HeLiX), the process was developed upon Composite Developments inception in 1981 by founder Marty Johanson and a team of American Composite technologists.

Feedback

Steve Gerard of Flyshop New Zealand says:

"I've personally used CDs fly rods ever since I've been guiding, that's 8 seasons now. CD rods are strong, light weight, well made, good-looking and of course cast very well and will handle the biggest of fish or punch a line with ease into a Nor Wester.... They produce award winning rods of exceptional quality and value for money."

2008 CD-RODS SFFNZ champs

CD-Rods sponsors the annual New Zealand national fly fishing championships.

The 2008 CD-RODS SFFNZ champs were held on the 18th, 19th and 20th of January on the World Championship venues based out of Rotorua. Twenty anglers fished in two groups for the title. Lloyd Struthers was the championship winner, Kiyoshi Nakagawa was second and Des Armstrong third.
