Black Nymph trout fly

Description
and use
The Black Nymph trout fly is a general nymph pattern similar to Pheasant Tail but particularly effective on warm evenings when trout are taking nymphs just sub-surface. Very effective when mayfly are hatching late in the evening as the dark shape gives a good sillouette of the insect. Can also be used in a weighted version when there is a little colour in the water. Tied on 12 to 18 size hooks.
