Description and use The Blae and Black trout fly is a traditional pattern thought to have originated in Ireland. A general pattern the represents an insect as it tries to leave the water after hatching and should be fished just sub-surface often on the top dropper. Most effective in the summer and early autumn months and in the evenings.
