The Cricket trout fly as the name suggests represent
a cricket that has landed on the water. There are many variations
on this fly though when crickets are landing on the water in late
summer and early autumn getting the correct size and a general shape
is the most important feature.
Fish under vegetation or where ever crickets or
grasshoppers are dropping onto the water. Don't worry about the finesse
of your presentation as these things land heavily and a bit of a splash
will atrract any fishes attention (they will be looking out for them
as these reprent a very good meal to any large trout). Takes are generally
vigorous and sudden.
