Purple and Grouse trout fly

Description The Purple and Grouse trout fly is a traditional pattern that originated from the north of England. It is one of many in the "grouse" patterns but the purple and grouse has shown to be particularly effective in New Zealand waters. It represents an insect that is just about to emerge from the nymph stage and hatch as a winged insect. It is fished most commonly as a wet fly but there is also a dry fly version.
