The Wellington Flyfisher's Club is one of the largest fly fishing clubs in New Zealand. It was established in 1984 and presently has a membership of around 175 members.

70 members meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7.30pm at the Awapuni Community Centre in Newbury St. Palmerston North and again for Fly-Tying on the first Wednesday of every month - January excepted. Excellent monthly magazine and fishing trips with tuition for newer members. The club is actively involved in the preservation of waterways and fish managment with representatives on our national bodies and organizations. New members are welcome and catered for on a 'whole of club' basis.
